Commercial Jungle Safari Services Suspended in Chitwan National Park from Today
Chitwan, Nepal – Commercial jungle safari services inside Chitwan National Park have been suspended starting today due to the monsoon season.
The park administration announced that the suspension is necessary because heavy rainfall can cause flash floods, fallen trees, and blocked forest roads, creating safety risks and inconvenience for visitors.
According to Information Officer Avinash Thapa Magar, the safari service will remain suspended until further notice.
"The monsoon season is an important breeding period for wildlife and birds. In addition, unpaved forest roads inside the park become damaged, small streams often experience flash flooding, and fallen trees can block access routes. For these reasons, we have decided to suspend safari operations."

🌧️ Annual Monsoon Closure for Safety and Conservation
Chitwan National Park follows this practice every year during the rainy season. Depending on weather conditions, safari services inside the park are traditionally resumed around the Dashain festival.

While the suspension is in effect, tourists are encouraged to explore alternative wildlife experiences in the community forests, which remain open and offer similar jungle safari experiences with local guides.
